Learn the art of Crabbing

Service Description

We will set out along the brackish waters of the Moira River by a canoe. We will learn the traditional methods of crab catching while setting traps in the ideal spots where crabs are hiding. Touching on some interesting facts about the different species of crabs, you will be introduced to the Local Mud crab. We'll provide insights on the nature of crabbing and fishing, what crabs like to eat and why the river is home to a large and distinctly diverse crab and shellfish population. Once we arrive at our spot, we'll provide a thorough overview of the equipment and tactics needed for crabbing. Crabbing is a respectful sport so we aim to catch and release the crabs back in their environment. At the end of the session you will surely know a lot more about crabs, tips to keep in mind while purchasing them and also hear many local stories as you interact with villagers. You will indeed have a whale of a time as we connect on this voyage.

Cancellation Policy

Our standard cancellation policy is that you can get a full refund for any experience if you cancel at least 72 hrs before the experience is scheduled to start, or within 24 hours of purchasing the experience provided the cancellation is 48 hours prior to the activity. Rescheduling can only be requested 48 hours prior to the activity. Easy enough!
